Pupils at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Coundon, Bishop Auckland recently enjoyed a fantastic experience at a local athletics competition, showcasing both their sporting skills and positive attitudes.

A group of Key Stage 2 children took part in a range of track and field events, including relay races, long jump and hurdles. Each pupil approached the competition with enthusiasm and determination, giving their best effort in every event.

Throughout the day, the children represented the school exceptionally well. They demonstrated key values that are central to school life, including resilience, confidence and respect for others. Whether competing in races or supporting their teammates, their behaviour reflected great sportsmanship and teamwork.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for pupils to develop their athletic abilities, build confidence in a competitive setting and enjoy being active alongside other schools.

Staff at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School were proud of the pupils’ efforts and the way they conducted themselves throughout the competition. Their positive attitude and commitment made the day a great success for everyone involved.
